Semla buns are Scandinavia’s answer to Lent pancakes and thousands are devoured on Shrove Tuesday, or Fat Tuesday (I know, amazing), each year. The buns are delicately flavoured with cardamom and filled with almond paste and fresh cream. *drools*
Londoners, get yours at Scandi Kitchen on Great Titchfield Street. They’ll be selling them right up until Easter.
And remember, if you eat a Semla bun in the dark they are calorie-free!
